The Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg is not just the most beautiful and the biggest port city in Germany, but also one of the wealthiest in the country. It was devastated during WWII, but has managed to recover and now it is the second-largest city in Germany after Berlin! — Expense money: We recommend you to bring some small change of Euro coins as some shops do not accept other currencies nor bank cards for small purchases. You may also have to pay for public bathroom facilities (usually between 50 cents and 1 Euro per person).
